The Arizona Cardinals made a roster move Tuesday that appeared on the NFL transaction report but the team did not yet announce. After right tackle Marcus Gilbert announced he was opting out of the 2020 season with a high-risk designation, the Cardinals added another offensive lineman to the roster.
They signed former Los Angeles Chargers guard Koda Martin.
Martin was an undrafted rookie in 2019 out of Syracuse and Texas A&M who spent the season on injured reserve for the Chargers.
Los Angeles cut him over the weekend.
He is 6-foot-6 and 304 pounds.
He played three seasons with Texas A&M before going to Syracuse as a graduate transfer, where he played for his father and his father-in-law.
He is long and was a good pass blocker in college, playing tackle. He was not as good in run blocking. He split time between tackle and tight end his freshman year with the Aggies.
He likely will not be in the mix for the final roster but might be a practice squad candidate.
