The Arizona Cardinals added a cornerback to their active roster Wednesday, giving them depth with an injury to Robert Alford. The team announced the addition of Breon Borders, signed to the active roster from the practice squad of the Tennessee Titans.
Borders. listed at 6-0 and 187 lbs, has played 11 games this season, all for the Titans, mostly on special teams. If Alford is going to miss time, the Cardinals need depth at special teams because Antonio Hamilton will slide into the defensive lineup.
He has five total tackles this season, including one on special teams.
Borders entered the league as an undrafted rookie out of Duke with the Raiders and spent time with Jacksonville and Washington, too.
The Cardinals also designated tight end David Wells to return from injured reserve. He suffered a hand injury in the one game in which he appeared for the Cardinals.
