Cardinals RT Jonah Williams heading to IR; Kelvin Beachum to start at RT

The Cardinals will miss Williams at least four games, although his time out is not yet known.

The Arizona Cardinals will be without starting right tackle Jonah Williams for at least a month. Head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters Wednesday that he is going on injured reserve for the right knee injury he suffered in the first quarter of the Cardinals’ 34-28 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Gannon also indicated the team is still “gathering info” as to how much time he will miss. He didn’t know whether he would need surgery.

A stint on injured reserve means being out at least four games. The earliest he could return would be in Week 6 when the Cardinals face the Green Bay Packers on the road.

While Williams is out, Kelvin Beachum, who finished the game at right tackle on Sunday, will start in Williams’ place.

The team will announce their roster moves sometime this week. We can likely expect a tackle like Jackson Barton be signed from the practice squad to the active roster.
