Cardinals release former Panthers WR Chosen Anderson

The Cardinals have officially released former Panthers WR Chosen (a.k.a Robbie/Robby) Anderson.

The Arizona Cardinals made their choice official on Wednesday.

As announced by the team this afternoon, they’ve released wide receiver Chosen Anderson—who was acquired via a trade with the Carolina Panthers this past season. The release of the man formerly known as Robbie (and Robby) will save the Cardinals approximately $12 million of salary cap space.

Anderson’s contract came to be in Carolina—when he signed a two-year, $29.5 million extension in the summer of 2021. He was fresh off a career campaign in 2020, one where he reeled in 95 receptions for 1,096 yards and three touchdowns.

The next pair of seasons wouldn’t be nearly as smooth for Anderson. He’d amass a career-low 519 receiving yards (and a few sideline outbursts) in 2021.

A third sideline episode in 2022, that time with wide receivers coach Joe Dailey, would ultimately spell the end for his tenure in Carolina. Just one day later, the Panthers traded Anderson to the Cardinals for a sixth-round draft pick in 2024 and a fifth-round draft pick in 2025.
