Cardinals players out with injury in preseason game vs. Chiefs

The Cardinals had a few players out with injuries for their preseason game against the Chiefs.

The Arizona Cardinals are set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in their second preseason game of the year. They played more of their starters than in the opener last week.

However, a number of players were not dressed for the game.

Who did not even suit up?

  • QB Jeff Driskel
  • TE Zach Ertz
  • OL Lachavious Simmons
  • OL Pat Elflein
  • OLB Cameron Thomas
  • OLB Myjai Sanders
  • OLB BJ Ojulari

Also not suited up was new offensive lineman Braylon Jones, but he was signed on Friday.

Driskel was dealing with a “residual effect of practice.” Ertz has come off PUP but is not ready to play.

Elflein is a new injury.

Thomas had a “residual effect” from the game last week, while Sanders injured his hand early in training camp.

Ojulari was on PUP but has been activated. Coach Jonathan Gannon was not sure he was ready for game action.

Quarterback Kyler Murray, who is on PUP, and CB Garrett Williams, who is on NFI, also did not dress for the game.
