The Arizona Cardinals made a few roster moves on the even of their Week 10 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. The most notable was having running back Chase Edmonds placed on injured reserve.
It is no surprise. He suffered a high ankle sprain on the first play from scrimmage against the San Francisco 49ers last week and is expected to miss a few weeks. Placing him on injured reserve means he must miss at least three games. The earliest he is eligible to return is in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Rams because the Cardinals have their bye week in Week 12.
To replace him on the roster, the team signed running back Tavien Feaster from the practice squad. That gives the Cardinals three healthy backs for Sunday. Jonathan Ward was ruled out with a concussion. James Conner and Eno Benjamin will handle the offensive load and Feaster could have a role.
The Cardinals also made two standard elevations from the practice squad. They elevated long snapper Beau Brinkley and receiver Greg Dortch to the active roster.
Dortch was elevated last week as well and played on special teams.
Brinkley was a known move, as long snapper Aaron Brewer broke his arm and was placed on injured reserve, leaving none on the roster.
Brinkley was not their first choice. They had signed Kyle Nelson earlier in the week, but he got injured in practice and so Brinkley was signed to the practice squad on Friday.
