The Arizona Cardinals are affected once again by the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting left guard Justin Pugh was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list for the second time since the start of training camp.
Pugh landed on the list early in camp with fellow starting linemen Rodney Hudson and Kelvin Beachum. It was due to close contact with someone who contracted the virus, and he came off after a few days.
This time, it is different.
According to the transaction list, both players in the league who landed on the COVID list were the result of a positive test, meaning Pugh contracted the virus.
As a result, he will not be able to play in either of the final two preseason games.
It is as good a time as ever for a start to land on the COVID list. He will be back for the regular season and won’t likely be in a position to contract the virus again.
With him out, it could mean that Sean Harlow will get the start Friday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
