The Arizona Cardinals begin 2023 with a year of change. They hired a new general manager in Monti Ossenfort. They have a new head coach in Jonathan Gannon.
Their defense will look different and so will their offense.
But thing don’t look good yet, which is why Mark Lane’s post-Super Bowl 2023 power rankings for Touchdown Wire have the Cardinals near the bottom of the league.
They come in second-to-last, ranked No. 31 of 32 teams. Only the Indianapolis Colts are behind them.
The Cardinals are a team with quarterback firmly in hand, but the rest of the team is in flux. Picking No. 3 overall in the draft should help them get either a weapon or impactful defensive player to pull off a soft rebuild around Kyler Murray. Arizona also doesn’t have a coach in place yet, but may get Patrick Mahomes’ offensive coordinator.
They landed Gannon as their new head coach. We will see who the offensive coordinator will be, although it is expected to be Cleveland Browns quarterbacks coach Drew Petzing.
With as many questions as the Cardinals have this offseason, which include how soon Kyler Murray will return from his ACL injury and how good he will be upon his return, there is no reason to be upset about a rating this low in the offseason.
After all, they do have the second-longest odds to win next year’s Super Bowl.
The Cardinals have a long way to go before they get any respect.
