Cardinals lose another tackle heading into Week 17 game vs. Rams

The Cardinals will be down three tackles in Week 17 against the Rams.

The Arizona Cardinals will be without starting left tackle Paris Johnson and starting right tackle Jonah Williams in Week 17 when they take on the Los Angeles Rams Saturday night on the road. Both have been ruled out with knee injuries.

The Cardinals have now lost a third tackle.

According to ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss, the San Francisco 49ers are signing tackle Charlie Heck off the Cardinals’ practice squad.

Heck was the Cardinals’ backup swing tackle for seven weeks while Williams was on injured reserve earlier this season.

The 49ers have tackle injury issues as well as starter Trent Williams won’t play in the final two games of the season.

The loss of Heck will be tough for the Cardinals.

Kelvin Beachum will start at left tackle in Week 17. Jackson Barton, currently on the practice squad but could be signed to the active roster this week, is expected to start at right tackle. With Heck no longer on the team, it means rookie Christian Jones, drafted in the fifth round this year, will likely be active for the first time and would be the team’s backup swing tackle on Saturday.

We can expect some roster moves this week. We will have the news here when they happen.
