The Arizona Cardinals return to practice on Sunday after a day off on Saturday and three days of practice to start training camp. So far, their health is great.
While news around the league about minor and major injuries, the Cardinals have full participation from all their players.
All 90 players on the roster are good for practice, head coach Jonathan Gannon said before Sunday’s practice.
Offensive lineman Jon Gaines, coming back from a torn ACL, was limited to start camp, has now increased his workload to be “a little limited,” meaning he has no restrictions but just is getting fewer reps than what would be his normal load.
Gannon changed the training camp practice schedule over last year, going with three days of practice and then a day off rather than the first initial few days and then five days in a row like they did last year.
The intensity has increased in these practices and, thus far, players are healthier.
How is it different this year?
“I think we were at 78 (players available) at this point (last year),” he said, noting all 90 are set to go.
Things will certainly come up later, but, for now, they will enjoy everyone getting the practice load they need.
