One of the Arizona Cardinals’ many unrestricted free agents this offseason is offensive lineman Max Garcia. Will he be back in 2021?
Garcia has spent two years with the Cardinals, both on one-year contracts. He spent half the 2019 season recovering from a torn ACL.
This past season, he appeared in 14 games, starting none. He played 69 snaps on offense, coming in to replace injured players. He was a backup and played on special teams.
Garcia is a veteran on the bench and has been with offensive line coach and run game coordinator Sean Kugler dating back to his days with the Denver Broncos.
He gives the Cardinals depth with starting experience, having 41 career starts. Whether it is him or another type of player, he is someone the Cardinals need on the roster.
He has the versatility to play all three interior guard positions.
He won’t cost a lot.
He knows his position coach and what to expect. He knows the offense. He has started in the league. It seems like a match.
If it isn’t Garcia, the Cardinals will sign someone like him.
Garcia’s potential 2021 return: quite possible
