Cardinals drop three spots in NFL draft order after win over Seahawks

They still are in position to have a top-10 pick in the 2020 draft.

The Arizona Cardinals have won two consecutive games, improving to 5-9-1 on the season. After their latest win, a 27-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, they fell in the 2020 NFL draft but still are in the top 10.

If the season were to end today, they would now hold the ninth pick in the first round, according to Tankathon.

Who have been the players selected ninth overall in the last few years?

  • The Buffalo Bills landed defensive lineman Ed Oliver in 2019 with the ninth pick.
  • In 2018, the San Francisco 49ers selected tackle Mike McGlinchey with the ninth pick.
  • Receiver John Ross was the ninth pick in 2017, selected by the Cincinnati Bengals.
  • Linebacker Leonard Floyd went ninth overall to the Chicago Bears in 2016.
  • The New York Giants drafted tackle Ereck Flowers ninth overall in 2015.
  • Linebacker Anthony Barr was the ninth pick in 2014, selected by the Minnesota Vikings.
  • In 2013, the New York Jets landed cornerback Dee Milliner ninth overall.

There have been some good players and some who haven’t panned out.

If the Cardinals end up ninth overall, hopefully they land an impact player who can contribute in 2020 and beyond.
