Cardinals’ draft picks now set after compensatory picks

They have six picks in seven rounds, forfeited one, acquired two and traded two away.

The NFL awarded 32 compensatory picks for the 2020 NFL Draft to 15 teams. The Arizona Cardinals, as expected, did not receive any. But with the compensatory selections in place, we now know what selections the Cardinals have in the 2020 draft.

They will have a total of six picks in this year’s draft.

Here are their picks:

  • Round 1, pick 8 (No. 8 overall)
  • Round 2, pick 8 (No. 40 overall)
  • Round 3, pick 8 (No. 72 overall)
  • Round 4, pick 8 (No. 114 overall)
  • Round 6, pick 23 (No. 203 overall)
  • Round 7, pick 8 (No. 223 overall)

The Cardinals had two fifth-round picks. Their original pick, the eighth in the round, they forfeited to select safety Jalen Thompson in the 2019 supplementary draft.

They had a second, the seventh pick in the round, acquired in the Josh Rosen trade last year with the Miami Dolphins. That pick goes back to the Dolphins in the trade to acquire running back Kenyan Drake.

Their original sixth-round pick, the eighth in the round, was sent to the Cleveland Browns in the 2018 deal to acquire cornerback Jamar Taylor.

The Cardinals received the 23rd pick in the sixth round from the New England Patriots in the deal that sent tackle Korey Cunningham to the Pats.

Seven round, six picks. We will see if they acquire more or use any of their remaining picks in another trade.
