Cardinals DL Rashard Lawrence to miss time after hand surgery

The Cardinals will be down a starting defensive lineman at least one week as Lawrence had hand surgery Monday.

The Arizona Cardinals will be down a defensive lineman this next week as they prepare to take on the Carolina Panthers. Defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence will miss time with a hand injury.

Lawrence had hand surgery Monday, Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Monday.

“I’m not sure of the exact timetable, but he won’t play this week,” he said.

Lawrence injured his hand in the second half of the Cardinals’ 20-12 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He played 19 defensive snaps in the game.

He landed on injured reserve each of his first two seasons in the NFL. Hopefully, he only has to miss a game or two. With him out, Jonathan Ledbetter will get to play. He has been inactive for each of the last two games.

Lawrence did nor register a tackle in the game on Sunday. Through three games, he has four tackles, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
