Cardinals designate DL Rashard Lawrence to return from IR

He had been on injured reserve since November 6 with a calf injury.

The Arizona Cardinals could be getting back some defensive line help soon. No, it isn’t J.J. Watt — at least not yet — but Rashard Lawrence is making his way back.

The team announced Lawrence was designated to return from injured reserve, opening a 21-day window for him to participate in practice and be activated to the 53-man roster.

He was placed on IR on November 6 with a calf injury. His return will be a boost for the run defense. It was the second straight year he landed on injured reserve with a calf injury and then returned.

He has played six games this season, starting five of them, and has four total tackles.
