The Arizona Cardinals did not make a trade before the NFL’s Tuesday deadline, but it turns out they did consider it. However, they ended up landing a player they had interest in and didn’t have to give up any compensation.
The team announced Wednesday it acquired former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Trysten Hill, waived by Dallas on Tuesday.
Hill was selected in the second round of the 2019 draft by the Cowboys and spent the last three and a half seasons with them.
He had appeared in seven games for Dallas and played 138 defensive snaps, picking up six tackles, two tackles for loss and three quarterback hits.
He has not played more than seven games in any season but did start all five games in which he played for Dallas in 2020.
He is 6-3 and 308 lbs. With their depth tested with injuries on the defensive line, Hill could see playing time right away.
To make room for Hill on the roster, running back Darrel Williams was placed on injured reserve.
