Cardinals can get draft pick back from Vikings in Josh Dobbs trade

If Dobbs starts enough games for the Vikings, the Cardinals will get the seventh-round pick back they sent Minnesota.

The Arizona Cardinals traded quarterback Josh Dobbs to the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday before the league trade deadline. They sent Dobbs and a seventh-round pick to Minnesota in exchange for a sixth-round pick.

That seventh-round pick is conditional and they could get it back.

According to John Gambadoro, the pick is conditional upon Dobbs’ playing time with the Vikings.

Per Gambadoro, if Dobbs starts half of the Vikings’ remaining games this season, the seventh-rounder will revert to the Cardinals.

The Vikings have nine games remaining in the regular season. If he starts five of them, the Cardinals will have gotten the sixth-rounder for just Dobbs. They will have gained a pick instead of simply gaining a round in the draft.

So with all the struggles Dobbs had, Cardinals fans should root for him to do well enough to start and remain the starter.
