The Arizona Cardinals have improved a great deal since they drafted Kyler Murray three years ago. With their No. 1 pick quarterback leading the way, they’ve gotten better each season. Before Murray came on board, Arizona went 3-13. In his first year as a starter they went 5-10-1, followed by an 8-8 record in 2020 and an 11-6 finish this past season.
Team owner Michael Bidwill knows he has a solid foundation and is attempting to keep it in place. The Cards just announced contract extensions for their head coach Kliff Kingsbury and general manager Steve Keim, who are now both under contract through the 2027 season.

The Cardinals started this past season 7-0 looking like the toughest team in the NFL. Injuries slowed them down, though – specifically a shoulder issue for J.J. Watt and a sprainked ankle for Murray, who struggled down the stretch and in the playoffs.
Still, it’s tough for Arizona fans to complain given how bad they were not too long ago.
Next up for the front office should be taking care of Murray, who is intensely dissatisfied with his contract situation. He has scrubbed the team from his social media pages and earlier this week his agent released an absolute cringe press statement in all caps demanding a new deal.
However, Murray and Kingsbury share the same agent, so odds are a divorce between the two isn’t in the cards. Whether it’s this offseason or the next Murray will get a fat new contract that pays him like the top-10 QB he is.
