The Arizona Cardinals reported for training camp on Tuesday and announced one roster move. Offensive lineman Carter O’Donnell was waived with an injury designation.
If he clears waivers, he will revert to injured reserve, where he will remain at least until healthy and can receive an injury settlement.
The move frees a roster spot.
Such moves are common at the start of training camp when players have their medical exams.
They did not place any player on PUP or NFI, which is good news and suggests that everyone will be cleared to practice starting Wednesday, pending they make such a move in the morning.
O’Donnell was one of four players to start games at left guard last season. Acquired via a waiver claim before the season after he was among final cuts of the Indianapolis Colts, O’Donnell played in five games, starting three at left guard.
He got injured at some point during the offseason. He missed the last week of OTAs and did not practice during minicamp.
