The Arizona Cardinals are closer to full strength on offense as they prepare for the Carolina Panthers this weekend. They announced a trio of roster moves Thursday morning.
Receiver A.J. Green, who missed last week’s game after testing positive for COVID-19, was activated from the COVID list. Tight end Demetrius Harris also tested positive last week and was activated earlier in the week.
Harris had a roster exemption until Thursday, so the team needed to make at least one roster move.
They cleared two spots, placing long snapper Aaron Brewer and tight end David Wells on injured reserve.
Brewer broke his arm in their win over the San Francisco 49ers. He will be out several weeks. They signed former 49ers long snapper Kyle Nelson to the practice squad and he will surely be brought up to the active roster this weekend.
Wells played one snap on offense in his Cardinals debut.
Green’s return is important. DeAndre Hopkins is still dealing with a hamstring injury and Rondale Moore appeared on the injury report Wednesday with a concussion and neck injury. Getting Green back means the Cardinals will have at least him and Christian Kirk in the lineup against the Panthers.
