Canelo Alvarez to give command for 2024 Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum

NASCAR announced on Monday night that Canelo Alvarez will give the command to start engines at the 2024 Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum.

NASCAR has landed another notable grand marshall after naming Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the individual to give the command at the 2024 Daytona 500. On Monday night, NASCAR announced that Mexican professional boxer and current super middleweight undisputed champion of the world, Canelo Alvarez, will give the command at the Busch Light Clash.

Alvarez will attend the NASCAR Mexico Series race at The Coliseum as they tackle the track before the main Cup Series event on Sunday night. The 33-year-old professional boxer is one of the best in recent history, with a record of 60-2-2 (39KOs) while holding four championships in four different divisions overall.

The sport has proven its ability to attract some of the biggest stars for its grand marshalls, with Alvarez and “The Rock” opening the 2024 NASCAR season in style. It will be interesting to see if NASCAR can gain any more notable stars in America throughout the season regarding grand marshalls for its Cup Series events.
