The 49ers’ running back situation is one of the NFL’s most peculiar. Despite not rostering a top-25 running back in terms of yards, they churned out the second-most rushing yards in the NFL.
This offseason saw one small change at the position with a trade on Day 3 of the draft that sent Matt Breida to Miami. Other than that and two undrafted rookies, the 49ers will have a similar group of running backs to the one they had a year ago.
