Can Malcolm Brogdon help replace what Marcus Smart brought to the Boston Celtics?

Some Celtics alumni (and their twin) doubt it – but does this question even make sense?

On a recent episode of the Showtime Basketball “All the Smoke” podcast, guests Markieff and Marcus Morris, Sr. spent some time talking about Marcus’ old ball club after the Boston Celtics had traded away veteran point guard Marcus Smart for star big man Kristaps Porzingis.

Specifically, the twins expressed their doubt that the NBA’s 2023 Sixth Man of the Year Malcolm Brogdon replacing Smart in terms of the leadership the ball club may need in his absence. Is this a fair criticism given the Virginia alum won’t even be the team’s starting floor general in the season soon to arrive?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast recently sat down to talk it over on a recent episode.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they think about the idea of Brogdon replacing Smart.
