Can Ezra Cleveland win the Vikings’ left tackle job?

The Vikings drafted tackle Ezra Cleveland in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft in hopes that he’ll becomes the team’s next starting left tackle.

Could that be this season?

It’s certainly something to watch.

Gregg Rosenthal over at NFL.com has it ranked as his 13th training camp battle to watch.

Veteran Riley Reiff is slotted in as the starter as we head into the season.

If Reiff were to lose the job, he wouldn’t lose a starting job entirely. More than likely, he’d slide over to guard.

The odds are probably against Cleveland right now considering the limited time rookies have been able to spend with their new teams this offseason, but if he has a strong training camp, he’s certainly got a chance.

If Cleveland works out, the Vikings should feel optimistic about he and Brian O’Neill starting at the tackle spots for the foreseeable future.

Reiff, meanwhile, is 31 years old and is under contract through the 2021 season with the team.
