Cameron Smith wins the Sony Open in a sudden-death playoff

Cameron Smith won the 2020 Sony Open in Hawaii on the first playoff hole over Brendan Steele. It’s Smith’s first individual title on the PGA Tour. In 2018, he won the Zurich Classic, a team event, alongside Jonas Blixt. Smith was among the Aussie players in the field who pledged $500 per birdie and $1,000 per eagle. The donations are going to aid the Australian wildlife effort in the wake of unprecedented fires there. Webb Simpson finished third. Graeme McDowell, Ryan Palmer and Kevin Kisner finished T-4.
