Last season, the Raiders desperately needed pass rush, so they made it their top priority in the draft. At No. 4 overall, they selected Clelin Ferrell, who was the top pass rusher on the National Champion Clemson Tigers. Then they double up on the position, drafting Maxx Crosby in the fourth round.

While the jury is still out on what kind of NFL career Ferrell will have, it was Crosby who shocked the world and came storming out the gates as a rookie, putting up ten sacks over the final 12 games.

For a team as starved for pass rush as the Raiders were (just 13 sacks in 2018), he was just what they needed. He also proved himself to be an every-down player.

Expectations are now very high for Crosby. The Raiders and their fans certainly have high hopes for him, but Friday one of the best pass rushers in the league gave his vote of confidence in Crosby.

Crosby wished Jordan a Happy Birthday, calling him “One of the greats in our game today” to which Jordan responded “Bro you next up.”

Jordan is an All-Pro pass rusher who has made five Pro Bowls and has 87 career sacks over his nine-year NFL career. He’s also never missed a game. That’s high praise from a player whose praise you should take seriously.

And, for what it’s worth, it took the former first round pick Jordan until his third season before he cracked ten career sacks. So, Maxx is well ahead of schedule.
