Cameron Jordan says he intends to play in 2025, with or without the Saints

Cameron Jordan says 2024 won’t be his last year in the NFL. He plans to keep playing in 2025, whether that’s with the Saints or a new team:

A New Orleans Saints franchise legend is nearing the end of his career, but it appears as though he is still going to go for one more season and it might not be with the Saints.

In an interview with Mike Triplett for NewOrleans.Football, defensive end Cameron Jordan announced that he intends to play in 2025. He also stated that it may or may not be with New Orleans. One thing he did say for sure is that he wants to be a defensive end and not move inside to defensive tackle. Jordan has another year left on his contract but just $1.5 million of the $12.5 million salary he’s owed is guaranteed, making him a potential salary cap casualty.

Jordan is a modern legend of the sport in New Orleans, but his production has certainly taken a hit. He has just five sacks in the last two seasons and a pair of them came just two weeks ago in the loss to the Washington Commanders. He has played a career-low percentage of snaps as well. It isn’t clear how much gas he has left in the tank, but perhaps some team can still get something out of him.

If this is his last year with the Saints, Jordan will go down as one of the best players in franchise history. He is a three-time All-Pro and has made eight Pro Bowls. He was also a member of the 2010s All-Decade team. The 35-year-old’s 120.5 career sacks is the most in franchise history. It would be great to see Jordan finish his career in New Orleans, but if he feels he can help his Hall of Fame resume somewhere else, he’ll explore that opportunity.
