Cam Reddish helped seal a win for the Hawks with a clutch steal

The Hawks rookie came up with a clutch steal late in the game on Thursday night to send his team to a win over the Heat.

Cam Reddish scored 16 points off of the bench Thursday night but it was his steal in the final minute of the game that sealed the victory for the Atlanta Hawks over the Miami Heat.

With 32.4 seconds left, and the score tied up at 124 apiece, Reddish was matched up on Goran Dragic. The veteran Heat guard made a move to his left, which Reddish immediately picked up on. He then poked the ball free to set up a fastbreak opportunity on the other end.

From there, Reddish and Dragic were in a sprint to the ball with Reddish narrowly escaping with the steal. Once Reddish gained control of the ball, the rookie went up to finish the play to put the Hawks up by two points with 31.4 seconds.

The Hawks maintained control of the game after that point to walk away with the 129-124 win. The play by Reddish put the exclamation point on an incredible performance by Trae Young, who scored a career-high 50 points on 25 shots.

After an up and down start to his rookie campaign, Reddish has really come around for the Hawks. He is playing with high confidence and is beginning to flash his defensive potential each night on the court, something Hawks head coach Lloyd Pierce is excited about.

In 49 games played, Reddish is averaging 9.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and one steal. Reddish ranks second among all rookies with 51 total steals this season.
