Cam Newton absolutely dominates in Madden 22 beta tests

Patriots quarterback Cam Newton performed well in initial tests of Madden.

If you are a Madden NFL fan and a New England Patriots fan, this news may excite you. The beta addition of the game has Cam Newton absolutely dominating the 2021 season.

One screen grab in the game’s Franchise Mode trailer shows Newton dominating the league through week 13. He has 3,731 passing yards and 26 touchdowns at that point, completing 67 percent of his passes. It appears the game takes into account New England’s new weapons — which include Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith and others.

Bryan Mazique covers sports video games for Forbes. He had access to the beta and ran a simulation of his own. In his simulation, Newton threw for 5,736 yards and wins the NFL MVP award. However, his simulation has New England losing to Baltimore in the first round of the playoffs.

All in all, it appears that what Patriots did this offseason will benefit Newton, at least according to Madden. Whether he will put up these numbers remains to be seen. However, it could be a potential foreshadowing of things to come.
