Highly-touted freshman wide receiver [autotag]Cam Coleman[/autotag] is expected to make an immediate impact in the Auburn offense once the season kicks off in a few short weeks. While the 18-year-old is still working to find his footing in the Tigers scheme, his connection with quarterback [autotag]Payton Thorne[/autotag] has “grown a lot” in the weeks leading up to the season.
Speaking with the media after practice, the Phenix City native spoke about how he has been able to get on the same page with his quarterback as the camp has progressed and still has room to grow.
“Our chemistry on and off the field, just getting to know him as a person. Getting to know him as a person, he’ll just learn me more, I learn him more.” Coleman said.
That chemistry doesn’t just pertain to Coleman’s pass-catching. His ability as a receiving threat is undoubtedly elite, but the 6-3, 188-pound freshman wants to prove to his teammates he can contribute in other ways too.
“I want them to see how I can be a team player, blocking down the field when I’m not getting the ball,” Coleman said.
