Cam Akers endured what was an up-and-down rookie season, with the lows being mostly out of his control. He battled through two separate injuries early and late in the year, had a few great performances and at times had to share the backfield with Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown.
But the rookie ended the season on a high note. He rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown in the Rams’ loss to the Packers on Saturday, which came after he gained 131 yards against the Seahawks one week prior.
He came on late in the year and emerged as the workhorse in Week 13, having a lot to carry over into next season. After Saturday’s loss to the Packers, Akers shared a message for fans, thanking them for welcoming him with open arms. He also said the Rams will be back next year – a strong show of confidence.
Thank you Ramily & LA for welcoming this rookie with open arms! We will be back . #Ramshouse

Akers will undoubtedly be a bigger part of the offense next season, having a year of experience under his belt. Andrew Whitworth knows it, Sean McVay knows it and so do fans.
There’s a lot to feel good about with the way Akers played this year. He has Pro Bowl potential in this offense as long as he stays healthy.
