Cam Akers and Maxx Crosby were both booted from the first day of practice between the Rams and Raiders on Wednesday after they got into a fight on the field, exchanging punches following a play.
It’s unclear exactly what happened, but reporters said Akers lowered his head into Crosby, which he took exception to, and Crosby then proceeded to attempt to punch the ball out of the running back’s hands.
The two of them were back on the field Thursday for Day 2 of practice and they made it through without so much as a scuffle. Afterwards, Akers spoke on the fight and said Crosby was “being extra” so he “got what he got” – which is almost exactly what the Raiders defender said Wednesday.
Cams Akers on his scuffle with Maxx Crosby yesterday: "He was being extra, he ran after me, he did some extra stuff and he got what he got." Says the two talked after practice today and are cool.

It’s good to hear Akers and Crosby talked after practice and are now on good terms, but tempers obviously flared yesterday. Sean McVay didn’t seem too angry about the fight that occurred, noting that it didn’t disrupt practice too much.
The Rams and Raiders will play a preseason game on Saturday night, though it’s unlikely Akers and Crosby will be on the field much, if at all.
