Ricochet anti-cheat is finally up and running for Call of Duty: Warzone.
Cheating has been an enormous problem in Call of Duty: Warzone for quite some time, though the aim-botted pocketed skies are about to clear up. Ricochet being a kernel-level driver means cheaters will likely get caught and given the boot before they knew what hit them. Additionally, Activision recently said that getting banned by Ricochet could lead to a lifetime ban from all future Call of Duty titles. Desperate times, as they say.
According to a blog post by Activision, it’s all part of a new effort to ensure cheaters don’t continuously ruin matches.
“The launch of RICOCHET Anti-Cheat represents the beginning of this new security effort,” Activision said. “Our team is focused on continuous monitoring and fast iteration of anti-cheat security systems across Vanguard and Warzone. Combating unfair play will be a continuous effort, but a battle we are dedicated to fighting.”

There’s some controversy around kernel-level drivers since monitoring your computer’s everyday activities is possible. However, Activision did say that Ricochet will only run when Call of Duty: Warzone is open.
If battle royale isn’t your thing, Call of Duty: Vanguard’s multiplayer is free this weekend for everyone.
