Caleb Williams let Rome Odunze keep his first career touchdown ball

Some debated whether Caleb Williams or Rome Odunze would get to keep the ball from their first career touchdown, but the two found a solution.

Chicago Bears top 10 draft picks, quarterback Caleb Williams, and former Washington Huskies star wide receiver Rome Odunze shared a fun moment on the field after combining for the first touchdown in both of their careers against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

After Odunze hauled in a 1-yard score in the fourth quarter, Williams ran over to playfully try to take the ball away from the No. 9 overall pick, as Odunze pretended to hand it off to him but decided to run away with it instead.

That left fans wondering who gets to keep the ball, the passer or the receiver.

“We’re going to cut it in half,” Odunze said with a laugh after the Bears’ 21-16 loss to the Colts on Sunday. “He’ll get the right, I’ll get the left like the Twix factory. But nah, I think he’s going to give me this one. He’s going to have plenty in his career, a lot more than me, so he blessed me with this first one.”

Williams also got an opportunity to take home a ball from the game, throwing his second career touchdown later in the fourth quarter to tight end Cole Kmet.
