Caitlin Clark has seen the discourse surrounding the WNBA — including the fallout from her incident with Chennedy Carter — and she is reminding everyone that the conversations should be about basketball.
There has been so much chatter about the WNBA during the past week that it has permeated the online landscape and even found its way to television. Caitlin Clark recently revealed that she’s heard a lot of takes despite trying to remain focused on her job.
In a newly released clip, Clark expressed how the numerous conversations are taking away from what things should truly be about — basketball. Per Christine Brennan of USA TODAY, this is what Caitlin shared with her about all of the discourse:
“I’m not on social media. So, I don’t see a lot of it, but you would be surprised…,” Clark said in reply to a question from USA TODAY Sports.
“Sometimes, it stinks how much the conversation is outside of basketball and not the product on the floor and the amazing players that are on the floor and how good they are for their teams and how great this season has been for women’s basketball…”
I asked Caitlin Clark how much attention she has paid to the controversy and conversation about what happened in the Chicago Sky game, and what her thoughts were on it. pic.twitter.com/TEY4yDLNrc
