Caitlin Clark doesn’t just want the Naismith College Player of the Year Award once. The Iowa Hawkeyes point guard is putting together a mighty strong case to defend her trophy in back-to-back years.
After her monster week that can only be categorized by a buzzer-beater and triple-double, Caitlin Clark has been named the Naismith Women’s College Player of the Week.

After a monstrous 2022-23 season that saw Clark take home the Naismith, her 2023-24 season is off to just as good if not a better start. The point guard is averaging 31.3 points, 7.6 assists, and 7.1 rebounds per game on the way to jumping out to a 15-1 record.
Caitlin Clark’s test will be keeping these numbers going as Big Ten play heats up and it is a gauntlet week in and week out as the Hawkeyes have a target on their backs being the reigning Big Ten champs and a top-ranked team in the country.
Every team is going to give Clark and the Hawkeyes their best shot to knock off a heavyweight contender. Up next on the menu includes a trip to Purdue followed up by a primetime matchup at home against the Indiana Hoosiers.
