While Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark is still refining her total game for the professional level, one aspect of her college career has already translated with lots of success.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Clark has made 51 3-pointers through 18 games, which is good for second in the WNBA behind New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu and Minnesota Lynx guard Kayla McBride, who both have 52.
Clark’s 51 3-pointers is six ahead of the WNBA player in third with 46, Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale. She’s averaging 2.8 3-pointers a game, which is good for fifth in the WNBA.
While Clark’s 35.2-percent of success from beyond the arc is only good for 24th in the league, she takes a high volume of shots that factor in for more misses than other players who are more purely efficient with less attempts.
Clark is averaging 16.3 points a game, which is good for 14th in the WNBA right now. She’s also averaging 6.6 assists, which is good for fourth leaguewide.
We’ll see how Clark continues to evolve her game as her rookie season with Indiana continues, but it’s safe to say that her 3-point shooting is already among the best in the WNBA.
