While the driver rosters in the three Cadillac V-Series.Rs in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar competition for 2025 look very familiar (only one of the full-season drivers will be wearing a Cadillac logo for the first time), that doesn’t discount the powerhouse lineup that the manufacturer is fielding in the two teams.
Within the six full-season drivers, three endurance additions and two (announced so far) Daytona-only pilots, are seven World Endurance Championships titles in LMP1 and Hypercar, plus two LMP2 championships. There are three Grand-Am/IMSA championships, eight Rolex 24 at Daytona victories (six of them coming with Cadillac Racing), six Twelve Hours of Sebring wins, four Petit Le Mans titles, and the drivers share 11 victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans among them.

“We look forward to continued success in the 2025 IMSA season with our new roster of V-Series.R drivers,” said John Roth, vice president, global Cadillac. “Racing provides an important test bed for Cadillac to transfer knowledge and technology between race cars and production Cadillacs, and our drivers are key to enabling this.”
Two drivers well familiar with the V-Series.R will drive the No. 31, Jack Aitken and Earl Bamber. Endurance addition Frederik Vesti is a bit of an unknown to IMSA fans, but has proven himself in other arenas.
Even though Wayne Taylor Racing has been racing with Acura for the past four seasons, the team and its full-season drivers – with one exception, Louis Delétraz – are no strangers to Cadillac. Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque have proven a strong pairing in the No. 10, as have Delétraz and Jordan Taylor in the No. 40. Adding Will Stevens (10) and Alex Lynn (40) for the longer endurance races only strengthen that lineup, and Brendon Hartley in the No. 10 at Daytona is well familiar with the team.
Then there’s the surprise from Wayne Taylor Racing for the opening race of the season – fan favorite Kamui Kobayashi returns.
“I am thrilled to announce that I will be racing for Wayne and his wonderful WTR teams for 2025 Daytona 24 hours. I had such an amazing and fun memory for racing with his team and also with Cadillac Racing,” said Kobayashi. “I am really appreciative not only to WTR and Cadillac to give me another opportunity to race for them, but also Morizo-san and Toyota GAZOO Racing for allowing me to compete in this historic event in the United States. It just feels like a homecoming for me. The competition in IMSA has been very intense and I am looking forward to race to bring the best result as possible to WTR and Cadillac.”
Adding to the impressive driver rosters already announced by Acura/Mike Shank Racing and Porsche Penske Motorsport, and IMSA fans are in for a treat at Daytona and the rest of the 2025 season.
