Cade York receives another All-American honor after 2020 season

There’s been no shortage of recognition for LSU kicker Cade York after this season.

The honors just keep racking up for LSU kicker Cade York, who received a good deal of recognition after drilling a school record-breaking 57-yard field goal against the Florida Gators in the Swamp this month.

Most recently, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), named York a second-team All American. He was the only LSU player to make the list.

York was also a first-team All-SEC selection after he nailed 18-of-21 field goal attempts and did not miss one of his 36 extra point attempts in 2020.

He was good from a distance all season long, good for six of his seven attempts from 50 yards or more — making him one of the best kickers in all of college football in just his second year with the team.

“The biggest difference in this year and last year is I’m a lot more confident in myself,” York told reporters. “Basically every kick they throw me out for I know I can make it.”

York and the Tigers are set to open the upcoming season against UCLA on Sept. 4.
