Cade Otton finds the end zone for the first time in 2024

Washington Huskies alum Cade Otton found the end zone in a high-scoring affair on Sunday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers vaulted themselves into at least second place in a high-scoring affair against the New Orleans Saints that saw coach Todd Bowles’ team come away with a 51-27 victory in the Caesar’s Superdome.

In a building that was very kind to his Washington Huskies in January, Cade Otton found the end zone for the first time in 2024 and helped hand the Saints their fourth consecutive loss. Quarterback Baker Mayfield connected with his tight end from eight yards out with 12:34 remaining in the fourth quarter to extend Tampa Bay’s lead to 37-27 on what was a modest day for Otton.

The former fourth-round pick had just 2 catches on 6 targets for 15 yards and a score and celebrated by laying the ball to rest like a baby, which looked like a tribute to his daughter Tenille, who was born in late June.

Otton has had a solid season through its first six weeks in what has been an extremely efficient aerial attack in Tampa Bay. He’s posted 19 catches for 163 yards along with his score on Sunday and has carved out a solid role for himself among the likes of star wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
