Cade Klubnik on list of quarterbacks with the most to prove in 2024

Cade Klubnik listed as the top bounce-back hopeful for the 2024 college football season among returning quarterbacks.

There’s no question that Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik has a lot of pressure riding on his shoulders heading into the 2024 college football season.

Klubnik, who started all 13 games for the Tigers a season ago and guided the team to a 9-4 record, is preparing for his second full season as Clemson’s signal-caller.

In a new piece from Bleacher Report that lists quarterbacks with the most to prove this season, Klubnik is listed as the top “bounce-back hopeful” for 2024. Penn State’s Drew Allar, who led the Nittany Lions to a 10-2 regular season and a New Year’s Six appearance in the Peach Bowl, was also listed as a bounce-back hopeful.

Per Bleacher Report’s David Kenyon:

“Clemson has stood as an ACC power for a decade, but an ugly start to the campaign quickly ruined its hopes in 2023.

Part of that can be pinned on Cade Klubnik, who averaged just 6.3 yards per attempt in his first year as the starter. Klubnik is an immensely talented, mobile quarterback and looks fantastic in his best moments. Clemson needs them to happen more consistently, though.”

Klubnik was a five-star recruit out of Westlake High School in Austin, Texas, in the class of 2022. In his first season as a starter, he threw for 2,844 yards to go with 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

He closed the 2023 season by throwing for 264 yards on 30-of-41 attempts in Clemson’s 38-35 Gator Bowl win over Kentucky.
