The BYU Cougars (5-2, Independent) travel to meet the Washington State Cougars (4-3, 3-2 Pac-12) Saturday at Martin Stadium in Pullman, Washington. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the BYU vs. Washington State odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.
BYU has tumbled two weeks in a row, falling at home to Boise State Oct. 9, and at Baylor last Saturday by a 38-24 score. The Cougars are allowing 32.0 PPG across the past two, as the defense has struggled a bit.
It’s been a tumultuous week for Washington State, as head coach Nick Rolovich was dismissed for failing to comply with a state COVID-19 vaccination mandate. Four assistant coaches were also dismissed, leaving the team in a bit of disarray.

BYU at Washington State odds, lines, picks and predictions
Prediction
BYU 31, Washington State 24
Money line
BYU (-200) catches Washington State (+160) in a tough spot. Wazzu had been playing exceptional football, rattling off three straight wins with four covers in a row.
But, with Rolovich and several other coaches gone, and others forced to wear several different hats on the fly, it’s going to be chaos on the Palouse.
Still, risky two times your potential return is a little too much. AVOID, and look to the spread.
Against the spread
BYU -4.5 (-105) is one of my favorite plays on the board. QB Jaren Hall is back for the visitors, and he should excel in this road game. I feel bad for the Washington State +4.5 (-115) players, as they deserve much better.
But, I feel good for myself, and bettors, as you have to take advantage of a favorable situation when it presents itself. This is certainly one of those times.
Over/Under
UNDER 56.5 (-110) is the lean here, but play it lightly. The Under is 4-1 in the past five for Washington State, while going 5-2 in seven games overall for BYU.
This won’t be confused with a defensive slog, but we also won’t see a lot of fireworks, either. And again, Washington State could be a little disjointed with all of the changes this week.
