For the Chicago Bulls, this past season was rough. After making the playoffs in the previous year, they took a step back, getting bounced in the Play-In Tournament by the Miami Heat, who went on to win the Eastern Conference. But dwelling on the past will do them no good. Instead, focusing on the positives and striving for improvement will be key.
On the court, this means Arturas Karnisovas exploring ways to improve the roster. Off the court, this means diving into hobbies and enjoying the summer before a long 2023-24 campaign. For Zach LaVine, fashion is an important activity, and it goes “hand in hand” with basketball.
In an exclusive interview with Natasha Dye of PEOPLE, LaVine spoke about his love for fashion and how it’s become an important part of his game.
“For me especially, fashion and basketball go hand in hand,” said LaVine. “I think the old saying is, ‘If you look good, you play good,’ and sometimes you just really need that,” he says.
He believes that the style he brings to the table off the court improves his play on the court.
“The season’s very long,” said LaVine. “We live in Chicago, and there are some cold, gloomy days. So if you brighten yourself up and make yourself feel good, you can transfer that confidence onto the basketball court.”
For LaVine, fashion is a way for him to express himself and improve his confidence levels heading into game time. Every player has interests away from basketball, and LaVine’s just so happens to help his play, too.
