The Chicago Bulls entered the offseason hoping to improve their roster. Many thought they should consider a rebuild, but Arturas Karnisovas made it clear that wasn’t in the plans. Instead, they made a bunch of moves to raise the ceiling of their current group, re-signing Nikola Vucevic and Coby White and signing Jevon Carter and Torrey Craig.

The Bulls have shaped their team around the core of Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Vucevic. While they have only won a single playoff game together, the team still clearly believes in the group. It’s still the offseason, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t staying active.

DeRozan was recently seen at The Drew League, where he often plays in the summer, and David Yapkowitz of ClutchPoints noted that he was showing off his offensive skills.

“One of the top local stars who always comes back to play in the Drew League each offseason is Chicago Bulls All-Star DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan made his season debut this weekend and displayed his arsenal of offensive skill,” Yapkowitz wrote.

As Yapkowitz noted, DeRozan’s yearly participation in the event is largely because it takes place in Compton, California, the Bulls star’s hometown.

The Drew League began in 1973 and has since been a place for high-level basketball talent to come together and play during the summer. Many NBA stars have suited up, including LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, James Harden and DeRozan.

So, while DeRozan may not be donning a Bulls jersey right now, just know he’s still out there getting buckets.
