After landing the No. 4 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls could be among the teams looking to trade up on Nov. 18 to obtain the first or second pick.
On the “Bulls Talk Podcast” with K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, insider Tom Haberstroh said that he wouldn’t be surprised to see the Bulls trade up in the NBA Draft with team vice president Artūras Karnišovas now at the helm.
The two teams at the top of the draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors, have each been rumored into wanting to trade down, which could open the door for the Bulls. However, it is unclear which prospect the Bulls would target, according to Haberstroh.
What is Chicago willing to give up to move up in the draft? If they have a guy that they really want and they don’t want to risk losing that player at No. 4? I don’t know what they’re willing to give up. But I do think that it wouldn’t be out of the realm, I wouldn’t be surprised if Artūras made a big splash on draft night and got a player that he really, really covets and values.
Unlike past years, there is no clear-cut choice for which prospect will be the first pick so it is a bit difficult to project who will be on the board when the Bulls are on the clock at No. 4. Based on that uncertainty, that could prompt the organization to move up if they really love a player.
Given the uncertainty across the board, the 2020 NBA Draft is shaping up to be perhaps the most interesting one in recent memory and could yield a number of different trades and related moves.
