Bulls guard Coby White has been ‘putting in work this summer’

Coby White’s improvement could be crucial to the Chicago Bulls’ success next season, and he’s been grinding this summer.

As the Chicago Bulls look to improve this offseason, they will need to count on multiple sources. The most obvious will be success in free agency and the trade market because adding talent to the current roster is crucial. However, they also need to count on the internal development of their younger players.

Patrick Williams, Dalen Terry and Ayo Dosunmu need to make strides if the Bulls hope to contend for the postseason. Perhaps most importantly, Coby White will need to improve. He showed great potential toward the end of the season, and he has been grinding this offseason.

According to Johnny Stephene, DeMar DeRozan‘s trainer who White has been working out with this summer, said that White has been “putting in work this summer,” per Daniel Greenberg on Twitter.

With Lonzo Ball‘s future with the Bulls in serious doubt due to his horrible injury luck, Chicago desperately needs help at the point guard position. White can absolutely help them in that regard.

The seventh pick in the 2019 NBA draft, White has a a great deal of potential, but with the new wave of players entering Chicago, his minutes have been on the decline. If he can prove he can lead the Bulls’ offense, his playing time could skyrocket.

White needs to improve his playmaking, get better on the defensive end and develop a more consistent 3-point shot. If White has been working on those things, Bulls fans could be in for a pleasant surprise next season.
