Fortunately, the transfer portal works both ways.
Just hours after Minnesota running back Ky Thomas announced his entrance into the transfer portal on Monday, the 5-foot-11, 205-pound tailback received an offer from Colorado, a team he rushed for 9.4 yards per carry against back in September.
New CU offensive coordinator Mike Sanford, who was Minnesota’s OC the past two seasons, appears to be the culprit behind the offer.
The second-year freshman rushed for 824 yards and six touchdowns last season and was recently named the Guaranteed Rate Bowl MVP for his 144-yard performance against West Virginia.
If Colorado can get Thomas, he would be a nice addition following the loss of Ashaad Clayton. However, not many are going to complain about the Buffs’ current tandem of Jarek Broussard and Alex Fontenot.
Thomas isn’t going to come easy for the Buffs, though, as he also announced offers from Kansas and Purdue.
