Buffs OL coach Bill O’Boyle raves about Savion Washington

Bill O’Boyle was more than pleased that Savion Washington followed him and Sean Lewis to Colorado

The long list of Colorado Buffaloes’ incoming transfer players is still growing after USF WR Xavier Weaver joined the team this past week.

But one of the more under-the-radar additions is OT Savion Washington.

Washington came to Colorado from Kent State and is reuniting with his former head coach, Sean Lewis, who took the offensive coordinator position under head coach Deion Sanders.

With spring football coming up, the Buffs’ coaching staff is figuring out which players they want to utilize more, and Washington sure caught the attention of OL coach Bill O’Boyle, who also comes to Boulder from Kent State. During a press conference on Thursday, O’Boyle went on and on about the talent that Washington brings to the table.

Washington announced his decision back on Dec. 19, and he has two years of eligibility remaining.

Colorado’s roster has enjoyed a massive turnaround, and new QB Shedeur Sanders could have a strong O-line blocking for him and a flurry of other offensive weapons.

If Washington can live up to his potential, this could end up being one of the best transfer portal additions of the offseason.
