Buffalo Bills Super Bowl odds: AFC East frontrunners after Week 8

Assessing the midseason Super Bowl futures odds for the Buffalo Bills, with a look at their odds to win the AFC East.

The Buffalo Bills (6-2) are two wins ahead of the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East and have a 4-0 division record through the first half of their season. After a 4-0 start, Buffalo came back to earth a tad by dropping back-to-back games to both teams from the 2019 AFC Championship before getting back on track with consecutive wins against division foes.

Below, we analyze the midseason 2020 Buffalo Bills Super Bowl odds, odds of winning their division as well as NFL futures and opine on whether they’re worth a Super Bowl futures bet at this time.

The narrative on the Bills from the preseason hasn’t shifted as dramatically as one would think given their first-place rank in the AFC East. Buffalo has risen from preseason odds of +3000 to its current number of +2500; however, that’s because of the Bills’ current division standing and them being on track to host at least one playoff game.

When the Bills were undefeated, QB Josh Allen was getting earnest MVP buzz from the NFL community. Allen was first in passing yards and third in QB rating with 12 touchdowns and just one interception through four games. As the season has moved along and the Bills stepped up in class, Allen has regressed back to less-than-MVP form and Buffalo’s defense has underwhelmed to a degree.

Some of the Bills’ mediocre defense can be attributed to secondary injuries but Buffalo is 20th in opponent’s yards per play and 30th in opponent’s 3rd down conversion percentage.

Bills division betting odds

  • Buffalo Bills -625
  • Miami Dolphins +600
  • New England Patriots +1100
  • New York Jets +100000

There’s no action to be had with betting the AFC East, in my opinion. It’s Tua Time for the Miami Dolphins, Adam Gase is holding onto his New York Jets coaching gig for dear life and the New England Patriots could be throwing in the white towel shortly.

Bills futures picks and predictions

I’d PASS ON THE BILLS +2500 to win the Super Bowl at the moment. It appears Buffalo is the worst of the AFC division-leading teams and if all goes right for them, they’ll get a home playoff game.

However, I don’t think the Super Bowl odds for the Bills heading into the postseason will be much more expensive than these unless crazy injuries happen in Weeks 16 and 17. Wait to see how the Bills finish the regular season and their health status entering the playoffs.
