The Bills can no longer capture the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC after the results of the Christmas Day games, but there’s still plenty to play for on Sunday as Buffalo can lock up the No. 2 seed in the playoffs.
Bills playoff picture
The Chiefs’ win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day locked up the No. 1 overall seed for Kansas City. They only have one game remaining – on the road against Denver – and cannot get to three losses on the season.
The Bills can lock up the No. 2 seed in the AFC with a win on Sunday. The Ravens are two games behind the Bills and hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. That means if the Ravens win in Week 18, the Bills would have to win against either the Jets or Patriots to clinch the No. 2 seed.
If the Bills are the No. 2 seed, that means Buffalo would be playing in the Wild Card round against the No. 7 seed in the AFC. Entering the weekend, that would mean the Broncos would be coming to Buffalo for a playoff game.
